    Bill McSwain
Republican Candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania

Service is in Bill McSwain’s blood: he is a conservative Republican, a U.S. Marine and a former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, appointed by President Trump. As Governor, Bill’s priorities would be strengthening our economy, reducing crime, promoting school choice and pro-family policies, and securing our elections.

As U.S. Attorney, when the country faced civil unrest during the summer of 2020, Bill stood up strong for law and order – over the objections of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner – and aggressively prosecuted violent rioters who looted businesses, torched cop cars, assaulted police, and tried to destroy our cities.

When corrupt politicians broke the law for personal gain and abused the taxpayers’ trust, Bill put them behind bars.

Bill personally argued the Philadelphia heroin injection site case in which he defeated the City’s plan to open the nation’s first supervised injection site. He fought back against Philadelphia’s dangerous “sanctuary city” policies by holding illegal immigrants who had committed violent crimes accountable, and he went after suspected terrorists who conspired with ISIS to do our nation harm.

He also fought to protect our children by locking up sexual predators, prosecuted dozens of fraud and tax evasion cases, went after Social Security and Medicare fraud, and aggressively prosecuted distributors, dealers, and corrupt doctors who helped to perpetrate the opioid epidemic.

Bill also prosecuted illegal voter fraud schemes in Philadelphia that stuffed ballots and manufactured votes for Democratic candidates.

Bill is a proud conservative. In private law practice, he has been a fierce champion of constitutional rights. For example, he served as lead counsel in the Chester County, PA “Ten Commandments” case, in which he defeated several atheist groups who wanted to remove an historic plaque on the façade of the Chester County Courthouse. And when the Cradle of Liberty Council of the Boy Scouts of America faced eviction from its historic headquarters in Philadelphia, Bill sued the City, alleging a violation of the Scouts’ First Amendment rights, and defeated that City in a national publicized trial.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Bill served as a scout/sniper platoon commander in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a graduate of West Chester Henderson High School, Yale University and the Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Philadelphia and raised in Chester County, where he lives today with his wife, Stephanie, and their four children.
