Ward 4 – McKinley

Joseph P. Dunn III
I am seeking the position of Commissioner of Ward 4 in Abington Township. I am strongly dedicated to community service and leadership, and I will work tirelessly to build connections that benefit the residents of Ward 4. My passion for fostering positive change is rooted in my belief that effective representation comes from genuine engagement, collaboration, and a commitment to addressing the needs of every individual.
I grew up in the Roxborough area of Philadelphia and now reside in Jenkintown, PA. My career began at an early age, learning the third-generation family printing business from the ground up, and eventually becoming an owner-operator for many years. However, due to rapid technological changes, I chose to redirect my life to healthcare. I graduated as a Registered Nurse with a BSN from Liberty University, Magna cum laude. I worked at Abington Memorial Hospital, attained a certification in Rehabilitation nursing, was a founding member of the Mentorship program, and instructed first-year students clinically at the school of nursing.
As an Air Traffic Controller in the Army for six years, I developed top-tier problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking skills. These, combined with my critical thinking, will help me achieve my goals of:
Keeping our community safe from crime, such as theft and vandalism, which are insidiously attacking us.
Optimizing the ability of our businesses to thrive and recreate a neighborhood atmosphere.
Overseeing Abington’s tax structure with a focus on stabilizing it and stopping excessive spending.
My diverse background, from running a family business to serving as a Registered Nurse and an Air Traffic Controller, has given me a unique set of skills in problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking. These qualifications, combined with my dedication to community safety, economic growth, and fiscal responsibility, make me a strong candidate for Commissioner of Ward 4. I invite all voters to learn more about my vision and how I plan to serve the residents of Abington Township.
