The Abington Board of School Directors has announced another location change for the February 4, 2020, meeting of the Board of School Directors. The meeting will now be held in the auditorium of Abington Senior High School, not the Abington Junior High School Little Theatre, as previously announced.

First off, thank you to the Abington and Rockledge community.
Together, we’ve managed to prevent the board from meeting in secret with the Chief of Police as a followup to last Tuesday’s meeting. The board has since issued a statement indicating that tomorrow’s meeting (1/28/20) has been canceled and the discussion rescheduled for February 4, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. in the Abington Junior High School Little Theatre located at 2056 Susquehanna Road, Abington, PA.
ATRO would like to encourage everyone interested to please attend the February 4th meeting and vocalize your concerns to the board.
At the January 21st meeting of the Abington Board of School Directors, some Directors made ad hominem attacks against our Township Police and School Resource Officers.
The video below is the relevant portion of last Tuesday’s meeting where the ad-hominem attacks take place.
@2:38 Tamar Klaiman
There’s a lot of evidence that anybody carrying a firearm within a district building puts kids at risk, specifically Kids of Color. We know that Black and Brown students are much more likely to be shot by Police Officers, especially School Resource Officers, than other Students.
@9:47 Tamar Klaiman to Brian Allen
Police Officers also shoot people, pretty regularly … Sooo …
Our Police have a special place in the heart of everyone in Abington Township and they have served our community with distinction.
These comments are outrageous and unacceptable coming from our School Directors at the podium during a School Board meeting.
Please reach out to our School Directors and tell them what you think about these comments and support our Police.
